Description

Annapolis Area Christian School is seeking an English teacher for the Upper School for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Founded in 1971, we are an independent, nondenominational Christian school serving
students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Teaching of the historical Christian faith
permeates each academic subject area. There are two Lower Schools, one in Annapolis and
one in Severn, our Middle School based in Annapolis, and the Upper School campus in
Severn.

AACS is a school where students pursue their God-given gifts and talents through a
comprehensive offering of academic courses, fine arts and athletics, extracurricular clubs and
programs, and AP and Honor courses.

Requirements

Will teach five English classes with other duties as assigned by the Principal or their designee.
Candidates who can contribute to the school community by coaching a sport, sponsoring a club,
or in other similar ways are highly valued.

Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in English education, English, or a
related field as well as demonstrated energy and enthusiasm for teaching learners of varying
abilities in the early years of high school. The ideal candidate will have a teaching endorsement
or certificate (e.g. ACSI certificate) in English and 3+ years of teaching experience at the high
school level.
