Company Overview
JAK Christian Academy is an English immersion elementary school located in the south of Haiti. Our schools aims to provide quality, biblical education with the mission to raise up strong, Christian leaders that will empower their families, communities and country.
Our school opened in 2015 and serves students from Preschool to 4th grade. Each year our school adds a grade- next school year we will serve Preschool through 5th grade.
Company History
JAK Christian Academy is operated by a non-profit organization called Mission-Haiti, which is based out of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Mission-Haiti has been serving the people of Haiti for over 20 years.
There are many facets to our organization, including medical care, evangelism, and orphan care. However, our largest priority is education. We run a student sponsorship program with over 2000 students participating, and we partner with 6 traditional Haitian schools to raise the standard and quality of education being offered to students in our area. Our most successful school is JAK Christian Academy, which celebrates Haitian culture and encourages the national language of Haiti, but teaches English to equip students for the calling God will place on their lives.
Benefits
While JAK Christian Academy is run by a non-profit organization, we do our best to provide for our missionary teachers. Teachers receive a monthly stipend, but all living and travelling costs in Haiti are covered by the parent organization, Mission-Haiti. We provide teachers with free medical care and consulting at our primary care clinic, offer teachers a retirement plan, and teachers are given leave from Haiti at Christmas and in the summers.
